Band Kunst www.fatal-recordings.com/docs/acts/kunst/kunst.htm This is a Swiss band with a german name that sounds a little bit rude when heard by English ears. Unfortunately for the Finbar Saunders out there, their name simply means 'Art' - they were going to be called 'Bra'!. They met at art school, play art rock and emerged from a local underground scene in the district of Lausanne. Think Sonic Youth circa 'Sister' mixed up with the even rawer edge Bikini Kill and Huggy Bear confronted by the titsınıass shock therapy of Peaches. In the penultimate track 'Storytelling' these touchstones combine beautifully as the only line in the song, 'Fuck me (PAUSE) Hard Nigger!' is repeated over and over until white noise feedback saturates the final minute of the song. The style and the confrontational attitude has been done before, but for those still discovering music away from the crowd this will be a welcome addition.
